Kartavya Anadkat conquers 5th Kamlaram Welfare Society Rapid Rating Open 2023

Kartavya Anadkat scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win 5th Kamlaram Welfare Society Rapid Rating Open 2023. Kartavya finished a half point ahead of the field. He defeated the eventual runner-up, Madhvendra Pratap Sharma and drew against the second runner-up, Aishwin Daniel. The reigning National Under-9 Open and Asian Under-10 Open triple Gold medalist, Madhvendra score 8/9 to secure second place. Aishwin scored 7.5/9 to be placed third. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹101000. The top three prizes were ₹15000, ₹10000 and ₹6000 along with a trophy each respectively. No tie-breaks needed for the top three

Kartavya Anadkat 7.5/8 had a half point lead heading into the final round. Madhvendra Pratap Sharma, Ankush Khatri and Yunus Khan were in pursuit at 7/8 each. Kartavya defeated Yunus, Ankush lost against Madhvendra. Thus, Kartavya and Madhvendra became a clear champion and runner-up. Ravi Palsule lost to Aishwin Daniel and he secure sole third place.

A total of 167 players took part from various states across the country in this two-day nine-round Swiss League Rapid Rating Open tournament. The event was organized by Kamlaram Welfare Society and Jila Shatranj Sangh, Sagar at Raghav Garden in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh on 8th and 9th July 2023. The time control of the event was 25 minutes + 10 seconds increment from move no.1.
