Tejas Bakre and Ankit Rajpara relay the Chess Olympiad Torch from Ahmedabad to Daman
The 11th Grandmaster of India, Tejas Bakre received the Chess Olympiad Torch at Ahmedabad, Gujarat and handed it to India's 36th GM Ankit Rajpara. Tejas is the first GM from Gujarat, Ankit is the second GM from his state. Before becoming a GM in 2014, Ankit finished third at Graz Open 2014 in Austria. Gujarat's first Woman International Master Dhyani Dave, latest International Master Manush Shah and the next WIM from the state, WFM Dhyana Patel were also present at Ahmedabad. Six cities in two days
On Thursday 30th June 2022, the Home Minister of Gujarat, Harsh Sanghavi received the Torch from GM Tejas Bakre and handed it over to GM Ankit Rajpara in presence of Ajay Patel, Bhavesh Patel and WIM Dhyani Dave at Ahmedabad.
Geetaben Rathva, Member of the Parliament received the Torch at Kevadia from GM Ankit Rajpara and handed it over to GM Tejas Bakre in presence of Bhavesh Patel, AICF Vice President.
The Revenue Minister of Gujarat, Rajendra Trivedi received the Torch from GM Tejas Bakre and relayed it over to GM Ankit Rajpara in presence of Bhavesh Patel, AICF Vice President.

Friday 1st July, Surat - C R Patil, Member of Parliament, relayed the Chess Olympiad Torch in presence of India's 11th GM Tejas Bakre, 36th GM Ankit Rajpara and Bhavesh Patel, AICF Vice President.
Bhikhubhai Ahir, President of Navsari District Panchayat received the Torch from GM Tejas Bakre at Gandhi Ashram, Dandi and handed it over to GM Ankit Rajpara in presence of Bhavesh Patel, AICF Vice President and other officials.
Praful Patel, the Administrator of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman, Diu and Lakshadeep, received the Torch at Daman in presence of GM Tejas Bakre, GM Ankit Rajpara, WIM Dhyani Dave and Bhavesh Patel, AICF Vice President.
