Kedar Walke clinches Braunau Open C 2024

Kedar Walke scored an unbeaten 4.5/5 to win Braunau Open C (<1600) 2024. He finished a half point ahead of the competition. Johannes Leiner (AUT) and Frank Kreuzinger (GER) scored 4/5 each. They secured second and third place according to tie-breaks. The combined total prize fund was €2875, for Open C it was €450. The top three prizes in C were €200 + trophy, €100 and €75 each. The three-day five-round Swiss league tournament was organized by WSV ATSV Ranshofen Chess at Ranshofen Castle in Braunau am Inn, Austria from 13th to 15th December. The 16th edition witnessed the total participation of 104 players, 32 in Open A, 41 in Open B (<2000) and 31 in Open C (<1600). GM Hagesh Pötsch (GER) won Open A scoring 4.5/5 and Elias Schneeweis (AUT) won Open B with a 4/5 score.

A total of 31 players took part from four countries across the world in the Group C (<1600) category. The tournament was organized by WSV ATSV Ranshofen Schach at Ranshofen Castle in Braunau am Inn, Austria from 13th to 15th December 2024. The five-round Swiss league tournament had a time control of 40 moves in 90 minutes + 15 minutes for the rest + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
