Pranav Venkatesh Golden at World Youth U16 Olympiad 2022, Bronze for Tanisha Boramanikar

by Shahid Ahmed - 11/10/2022

India suffered a 1-3 loss to Turkiye-Red in the final round of FIDE World Youth Under-16 Olympiad 2022. Turkiye-Red had already won Gold after the eighth round. They suffered a total of three individual losses in the entire tournament. One of them was in the last round by FM Eray Kilic against GM Pranav Venkatesh. Pranav scored an impressive 8/9 to win an individual Gold medal. He also won the Magnus Academy Challenge on the previous day. It is certainly not easy to balance two tournaments, which has a completely different format and time control. Pranav did it handsomely as he did fantastic in both events. Reigning National Sub-Junior Girls champion, Tanisha S Boramanikar claimed an individual Bronze medal on Board no.6.
