World Youth U16 Olympiad 2022 R4: India bounces back strong against Uzbekistan-2
India made a strong comeback by defeating Uzbekistan-2 in the fourth round of FIDE World Youth Under-16 Olympiad 2022. GM Pranav V, FM Harshad S and Tanisha S Boramanikar scored the wins, while IM Pranesh M was held to a draw. India will face the biggest challenge of the event so far, the top seed Iran in the fifth round. There are no changes in the Indian team, however Iran has made one change. India scores an emphatic victory
Both Turkiye Red and Kazakhstan-1 scored 3-1 victory over Azerbaijan-1 and Turkiye-Anatolia respectively, without losing a single individual game, to remain coleaders. Top seed Iran won their match against Azerbaijan-2 by a minimum margin 2.5-1.5.
India - Uzbekistan-2: 3.5-0.5
GM Pranav Venkatesh (2530), FM Harshad S (2228) and Tanisha S Boramanikar (1808) won their respective games. IM Pranesh M (2442) conceded the sole draw against WFM Afruza Khamdamova (2118).
