No tie-breaks needed for top five
The star of the 'recreational player' board is undoubtedly - Pang Bo of Decade China. He scored 11/11 with a performance of 2624. Since he is unrated, his performance is even more impressive. He quite possibly would have scored 12/12 if he had played the first round. He mentioned that he is the alumni of the same university as Ni Hua. That's how he got into the team. Before every round, his teammates were helping him starting from opening to analysis and how to play against different opponents. He also added that this was his first international tournament. What a fantastic debut!
Daniil Dubov mentioned in an interview in his own way that this was his worst performance in a team event but he was delighted that his team won. He joked with his teammates that if he is playing well the team should not be worried because that means the team will win. However, in the last round, he needed to win his game for his team to win the match. That's what he did. He is a former World Rapid champion and one of the seconds of Magnus Carlsen for a reason after all.
