Senthil Maran wins 15th Kirchseeon BIBER Open 2024

FM Senthil Maran K, Luca Englert (GER) and GM Oleg Korneev (ESP) scored 4.5/5 each at 15th Kirchseeon BIBER Open A (>1750) 2024. Senthil won the tournament due to better tie-break score. Luca and Oleg were placed second and third respectively. The top three prizes were €500, €300 and €200 along with a trophy each. The tournament was organized by Christian Langer,  Schachclub Kirchseeon e.V. at ATSV hall in Kirchseeon, Germany from 5th to 7th July 2024. This was Senthil's first Classical and second overall rating tournament triumph of the year. Top three score 4.5/5

For the first time since 2007, the tournament witnessed the highest number of participation - 145 (83 in Open A and 62 in Open B). The main sponsor of the tournament was BIBER-Beratung. This was the strongest tournament in all of its 15 editions.

Senthil Maran scored an unbeaten 4.5/5, won the tournament on tie-breaks and increased his Elo rating by 11.6 points

A total of 83 players including a GM took part from seven countries across the world including Germany in this three-day five-round Swiss League Rating Open A (>1750) tournament. It was organized by Christian Langer,  Schachclub Kirchseeon e.V. at ATSV hall in Kirchseeon, Germany from 5th to 7th July 2024. The time control of the tournament was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 15 minutes for the rest + 30 seconds increment from move no.1.
