Anna - Vaishali: 1-1.5
Anna Muzychuk (UKR, 2505) and R Vaishali (2489) faced each other for the first time in the FIDE Women's Candidates 2024 last month. They drew the first game and Vaishali won the second. Anna was determined to score her first win in the Classical against her opponent.

The game eventually fizzled out to a knight vs bishop endgame where draw became the obvious result. The Armageddon was a hard-fought draw which means Vaishali won the match as she had the black pieces.
Pia - Wenjun: 1-1.5
Pia Cramling (SWE, 2449) drew with Wenjun Ju (CHN, 2559) in the Classical game. Wenjun was winning the Armageddon in the endgame. However, she drew as she had the black pieces. So a draw was enough to win the match.
Humpy - Tingjie: 1.5-1
Last month, Koneru Humpy (2545) and Tingjie Lei (CHN, 2548) traded wins at the FIDE Women's Candidates 2024. This time, the Classical game ended in a draw. Despite needing only a draw to win the match, Tingjie played aggressively. After her initial mistake got overlooked, Humpy capitalized in the endgame, won the game and match.
