Last call to register for this Monday's ChessBase India Originals Rapid Open Tournament
44th Chess Olympiad is now less than ten days away. What if we tell you that we are giving you the opportunity to face two of the Olympians before they start their campaign? That's right, World no.10 and Dutch no.1 Anish Giri and World no.28 and India no.3 Vidit Gujrathi will play a Death Match on 26th July. Before that, there is an Open Rapid tournament we are organizing at Phoenix Marketcity Kurla on 25th July. Top 10 finishers and ten more selected by us will get to play against both of them in a tandem-simul. Total prize fund ₹50000 is up for grabs. If you have not registered for the tournament yet, then do it right away. Last date for the registration - 22nd July. So hurry up and register now!
ChessBase India Originals Rapid Open is just six days away
On Monday 25th July 2022, we, ChessBase India will organize our first-ever over-the-board Rapid tournament which will have a total prize fund of ₹50,000 with the first prize of ₹10000. Entry is FREE for GMs, IMs, WGMs and WIMs. Entry fee for others is ₹799 which includes a ticket to the Death Match between Anish Giri and Vidit Gujrathi on 26th July. The event is open to players all over the world.
Apart from the prizes, the top ten players of this tournament will be selected, and ten more spots will be decided by the organizers for a 20-player tandem clock simul with Anish Giri and Vidit Gujrathi on 25th of July 2022 at 5 p.m.
Anish and Vidit will get 45 minutes and their opponents also will get 45 minutes to play a tandem clock simul. What does a tandem-simul mean? It means Anish and Vidit, either can play a move on any board of their choosing.
