Annirudhha Potawad conquers 2nd ChessBase India Club Tournament 2022
Annirudhha Potawad scored 7/7 to become the winner of 2nd ChessBase India Club Tournament 2022. He finished a full point ahead of the competition. Jeet Shah and Nitin M Pai scored 6/7 each. They were placed second and third respectively according to tie-breaks. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹10000. The top three prizes were ₹5000, ₹3000 and ₹2000 along with a trophy each. Fourth to eighth won 1-month ChessBase Premium Account subscription and a 10% discount coupon which can be used on ChessBase India shop. There were no entry fees. Annirudhhaa's fifth victory of the year
The fourth Saturday of each month, ChessBase India organizes a chess tournament as part of the ChessBase India Club at Phoenix Market City in Mumbai, Maharashtra. There are no entry fees. The only condition to take part in the tournament is - one must attend all previous sessions of that particular month. That's it. There are no other conditions. If you are still wondering why this is done - to promote and spread chess, encourage new members to take the game and bring back those who had to leave the sport for any possible reason.
The prizes were distributed by the Chief Arbiter Mayur More and Yaseen Sheikh, ChessBase India's Administrative Officer.

When is the next one? The fourth Saturday of December, which is 24th - Christmas eve. We would like to thank the Phoenix Marketcity who have sponsored the event for their kind support. The Chess Club has been going on since the last 36 weeks now for every Saturday and very soon we will hit one year!
A total of 58 players took part from various parts of the country. The one-day seven-round Swiss league Blitz Open tournament took place at Phoenix Market City in Mumbai, Maharashtra on 26th December 2022. The time control of the tournament was 5 minutes + 2 seconds increment from move no.1.
