Abu Dhabi International Chess starts in 2 weeks!
One of the biggest and most popular chess festivals in the world, the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival, is back in 2023. The event will start on August 14, 2023. From all over the world, 61 countries are participating in the event, and numerous 2700+ GMs have already participated. A total of 63 Indian players are participating in the master's section, while 54 Indian players are taking part in open section A. What is the schedule and prize money for the event? Celebration of chess in a beautiful city
One of the most-awaited chess tournaments around the globe, the Abu Dhabi International Chess Festival will start on the 14th of August, 2023. The festival features no less than 11 events spread throughout 11 days - it will come to an end on 25th August. The headliner, of course, is the Masters' event which has attracted more than 150 highly talented players so far. The top seed is world no. 11, and India no. 2, Gukesh D (Elo: 2744). What is more exciting is that the second seed is also an Indian player, GM Arjun Erigaisi (Elo: 2710).

The total prize fund for the Chess Festival is a massive 41,600 USD. Following are the details of the Prize money structure spread across the 11 events to be held throughout the festival. All the prize money amounts are in US Dollars.

In the open section A, with less than 2300 Elo a total of 54 Indian players are participating. The top seed in the open A section is WGM Priyanka Nutakki! (Elo: 2293).
